The BackTpack complements the way the body was designed to function. It loads the body through its vertical axis which trains good posture and allows you to stand, walk, and sit with your spine and head tall and your shoulders relaxed in a healthy posture. All compartments are accessible to the wearer while the bag is worn both standing and sitting. The sit strap transfers the load off the shoulders and spine onto the lap when the wearer sits, i.e., unloading without removing.
Everyday activity of load-carrying with habits of good posture and body mechanics, as trained by the BackTpack, contributes to increased bone density. These habits should start with children, since it is during the growth period that these structural changes take place. As demonstrated in a study with middle school students, BackTpack eliminates most posture-related pain while training good posture for a lifetime habit.
