Interesting Tidbits:
Kate McLaughlin got the idea for Lagniappe Gift Wrap from a former roommate whose mother made them back in the early 1970's to save money, as well as preserve the environment. Kate proceeded to make them by hand and so impressed her grandmother that she sent her home after the holidays with a 1946 Singer Featherweight sewing machine. Kate can still be found making bags on this sewing machine to this day! It was while completing her MBA at Babson College that the opportunity arose to develop a marketing plan for Lagniappe Gift Wrap. This quickly evolved into a business plan which she entered into the National (now Global) Social Venture Competition, and made the semi-finals. Thus, Lagniappe Gift Wrap was born!
