1) It screws onto any soda bottle, and keeps the ice cream separated from the drink, allowing you to mix only the amount you desire, so you can drink only soda or eat only ice cream/custard, and keep the rest fresh for later if you wish,
2) It has a unique built-in spout in the lid so you can drink it without a straw, and not worry about spilling or splashing caused by the “floating ice cream blob” effect,
3) It lets you have fun watching the soda and ice cream mix inside the dome lid, just like a volcano. Experience the science of fizz making with this special treat!
Interesting Tidbits:
Created by a toy inventor and product designer, whose "lightbulb moment" came while standing in line at a local Baskin Robins. David Chodosh watched someone behind the counter trying to make a root beer float, the worker didn't know how to do it. Within seconds the bubbles overflowed, creating a huge foamy mess, while customers watched in amazement.
After seeing this it occurred to Chodosh that there were problems with the conventional styrofoam cup float, that this great classic product could be improved, cleaned up and made more toy-like!
David decided to use plastic bottles (they're more popular than cans) to devise a new type of mixing chamber and a new way of drinking soda through the ice cream attached to a bottle. This way, kids could control the taste and watch the "science" of foam making, and have the choice of different flavors.
Finally, in the spring of 2006, The Fizz™ was brought to market. The response has been tremendous! Kids really enjoy watching the bubbles, and controlling their own taste preference. Plus, the Fizz is reusable!
