WalkyDog, from Bice SRL, allows bike riders to take their dogs on any terrain without holding a leash, as the sturdy aluminum, lightweight casing of WalkyDog is fixed to the bike frame. An adjustable but stable-length leash cord anchored in the casing attaches to a dog’s collar, preventing the dog from straying into passing-by cars or into the bike's wheel spokes. However, a shock absorbing mechanism still gives four-legged companions a comfortable degree of give and take. Bikers can focus on the road hands-free, while dogs safely and easily run alongside. Installed easily on any bike, WalkyDog can also be used with any size of dog. WalkyDog won't scratch a bike’s paint or damage a bike, and comes in a variety of colors to match any bicycle. Easily transferred from one bike to another in seconds by a simple release mechanism, or detached and transformed into a normal leash.
Interesting Tidbits:
Two sets of the WalkyDog can be used on one bike at once, allowing a dog to run on each side of the bike. WalkyDog is an excellent form of exercise for dogs, counteracting the growing problems of obesity, diabetes, and arthritis among dogs.
